Everybody has heard about the network competition for Buffy. Since Buffy's contract with the WB is now over, the show may be changing networks.  Will this affect us Canadians who watch the show on the New VR.  I e-mailed the New VR and inquiry and here is their reply.  Click to view the full e-mails.

On Tuesday, August 07th, 2001 this was sent to the New VR:

Hello.

Could you please tell me when the Fall shedule will be announced?

I am particularly interested in knowing if you will be keeping Buffy and Angel together, back to back,  on Tuesday nights, despite network changes in the U.S.

On Wednesday, August 8th, 2001 the New VR relpied: 

Our fall schedule is coming together in bits and pieces - some changes happening as early as next week.  For your specific interests, you'll be pleased to know that both BUFFY and ANGEL will return in new episodes to The New VR, and will remain in their regular Tuesday night time slots.  The two-hour BUFFY season premiere is scheduled for October 2nd - ANGEL will follow at 10:00 for that week only.

Part 2

On Sunday, April 22, 2001 I wrote to the New VR:

Hey The New VR,

I e-mailed you before regarding if Buffy will move, if it moves on the WB, and you said as far as you know you are keeping it.  Now that Buffy has officially moved from the WB to UPN and Angel still remains on the WB  has there been any change on your network?  Will Buffy and Angel still air back to back on Tuesday nights?

On Monday, April 23rd, 2001 the New VR replied:

We own BUFFY for the duration of the series.  Our fall schedule is not set as yet, so the time slot may change, but rest assured, BUFFY will be here on The New VR.  The fate of ANGEL is not as certain,  but it is likely that if the show returns, we will still carry it.

On Saturday, March 17th, 2001 I wrote to the New VR:
